"The object isn't to make art; its to be in that state which makes art inevitable." -Robert Henri
Over the weekend I had an opportunity to co-lead about 30 women in a process of art + prayer for an hour in Kingwood, TX, using watercolor and collage using a spiritual practice called visio divina "sacred seeing."
It was wonderful in every way & such a delight to offer space for 1 hour for the women to meditate, reflect, tap into their deep well of creativity & open themselves to the possibility of something sacred & magical happening--
and wow, did it happen.
Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.

Over the past couple of months, I have made one collage a day. Today marks day 73 of my 100 Day Project!!! Wow.
Each day has revealed to me the difference that the discipline of showing up daily to the creative process & commitment to growth can make in my life in & outside of the studio. The process has been liberating.
If this collage a day process has revealed anything to me, it has been the importance of allowing your authentic voice space to speak its truth and the goodness of all that makes me who I am--
the world traveler,
the one who craves silence,
the hopeful bleeding heart,
the one who thought silence was protection,
the one who has speaks regardless of the cost,
the insecure inner child,
the resilient woman
& so many other layers of me, at times the the list seems endless.
I am way over the half-way mark & I have 28 more days to go.
I'm looking forward to seeing what flows out & what surprises still await.
