![]() Yesterday I collaborated with Urban Harvest Houston & Urban Philanthropy to lead an Earth Day art workshop for the 2nd graders participating in the Urban Harvest Houston gardening program at Dogan Elementary School. It was my first time partnering with Urban Harvest. I learned so much about what Urban Harvest is doing to educate & empower youth. It's great! Creating outside near Dogan Elementary's garden with the little gardeners was beautiful, inspiring & compelling. They were so proud! I am thankful to have had the opportunity to create to create Earth Day Gratitude tiles with the little artists. them. It was definitely one for the books! I hope life will provide more opportunities for me to partner with programs working to empower, inspire & build up the youth in our city. The arts are essential to this type of work and I look forward to helping young people exercise the creative muscles that are needed to imagine & create a more beautiful, just and good world for all. Take a look at our time together...

![]() One of the many joys of my life's work these days is helping others tap into their creativity & learn new ways of expressing themselves. It's fun to see what unique beauty comes out when we have the time, space and supplies to reflect & create. When I received an invitation to join the United Methodist Women of New World UMC in Arlington to lead a creative reflection workshop on "forgiveness" for their weekend retreat, I was honored & delighted to take LAR Art Studio back on the road again. I love to travel. I love opportunities to go on the road with my craft. It gives me so much life to experience the many pages of the world, meet new people & soak in the inspiration of life unfolding beyond Houston. My time in Dallas met all of my expectations and more. I met so many brave women who were willing to dive deep into the well of creativity within to explore what "forgiveness" & freedom. Along the way I got to see some legit art on the buildings & along the streets of Dallas, taste some of the best coffee I have had in Texas, breathe in the delightful scents of the Texas wildflowers and do what I love, all with my best friend & husband, Cleve, by my side. It was all a gift. Below are some scenes from the trip. If you are interested in learning how to host an art workshop or creative experience me, click HERE. I would love to partner with you to create something beautiful for your community, special event and/or conference. I am delighted to share my new collection of handmade beaded bracelets with you. I've found great joy over the past couple of weeks in designing & creating the bracelets below. Each piece has a sophisticated & classic charm that make them perfect for a special occasion or for an everyday look. You can wear them alone, stack them or give them as a gift. To celebrate the launch of this venture, the first 5 people who purchase a bracelet will received a free Mixed Media Art Jewelry Tray by LAR Art. Click HERE to view & purchase. Thanks in advance for your support. Hope you enjoy the gallery! Thanks for your support. love, lanecia ![]() I am really honored to have work published in the May/June issues of Alive Now Magazine on "Poverty." Alive Now is a spirituality magazine that seeks to nourish people who are hungry for a second way of living. It is so exciting and a bit surreal to see my photography and words in print. The photograph is of an early morning sunrise in Collierville, TN, during my first contract weekend gig as a full-time artist. I woke up full of wonder and an overwhelming sense of contentment. The poem I wrote after studying the life and work of Barbara Jordan. Click the HERE to purchase a copy and/or learn more about Alive Now Magazine. |
